Zone tickets in the Warsaw aglomeration
The Zone ticket allows for travelling by train within a specified area (zone). The Warsaw agglomeration distinguishes the following zones:
Zone I limited by stations – Warsaw Ursus, Warsaw Gołąbki, Warsaw Choszczówka, Ząbki, Warsaw Wola Grzybowska, Warsaw Falenica, Warsaw Jeziorki,
Zone II limited by stations – Pruszków, Płochocin, Chotomów (or Nieporęt), Zagościniec, Halinów, Zielonka Bankowa, Śródborów, Zalesie Górne,
Zone III limited by stations – Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Boża Wola, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Tłuszcz (or Nieporęt), Mińsk Mazowiecki Anielina, Celestynów, Czachówek Południowy, Góra Kalwaria.
Zone tickets can be purchased named, with time limits or seasonal versions.
- 1. Time limited zone tickets
Time limited zone tickets can be purchased according to the normal tariff or with discounts of (33%, 37%, 40%, 49%, 50%, 51%, 78%, 93%, 95%, and 100%) for 2nd class journeys on the Mazowieckie Railway’s trains according to the applicable time tables. Such a ticket may entitle the holder to unlimited number of journeys within:
- I zone – during 2 hours,
- I and II zones – during 4 hours,
- I, II and III zones – during 6 hours,
counting from the hour as specified on the ticket or the purchaser’s designated time.
Charges for time limited zone tickets valid for travel in specified areas (zones) are fixed. Together with the time limited zone ticket a similar ticket at a fixed price can be purchased for the carriage of a bicycle. This ticket is valid for the applicable zone and time limit as specified on the principle ticket.
Note! If completion of travel exceeds the time limit of the zone ticket validity due to train delays, the traveller can complete his journey after the time specified on the ticket (provided that the scheduled arrival of the train is within the time specified on the ticket).
Trip tickets are not sold for travel between stations located in zone I.
- 2. Named seasonal zone tickets
Named seasonal zone tickets can be purchased in two versions:
- monthly (according to the normal tariff or discounted by 33%, 37%, 40%, 49%, 50%, 51%, 93%),
- quarterly (according to the normal tariff or discounted by 33%, 40%, 50%).
Named seasonal zone ticket is valid from the moment of issue or when indicated by the purchaser, subject to retention of the 7-day advance purchase timeline. This ticket entitles the holder to unlimited number of journeys within the specified area.
Before starting the first journey, the ticket holder is required to write legibly in the space provided on the ticket, his name, surname and number of the document with a photograph confirming his identity. It is particularly important as the ticket is valid only with such a document. Furthermore should the information not be entered legibly the ticket is also invalid.
For journeys on the basis of a named seasonal zone ticket the only person entitled is the one whose details appear on the ticket.
